In Communion, 2021

This series of Augmented Reality filters are derived from 3D scanned flora and other objects I observed on my daily COVID lockdown walks. The filters are subtly animated to display the often fraught relationship between humans and their natural environments. In a moment where many US city dwellers were getting outside and exploring their neighborhoods in droves, this appreciation for our immediate surroundings was for me often tinged with a fear that these human/nature environments might be temporary and surface level.

AR filters from the In Communion Series have been featured in CADAF Digital Art month in Paris and Criatech Festival in Aveiro, Portugal.
